Steward's Report
This race was delayed two minutes due to the flap on the catching pen gate needing minor repairs.
Miss Murino was slow to begin. Smoke And Embers and Brave Hearted collided on the first turn. Brave Hearted, Oddjob Lad, Winlock Jetty and Rose Fawn collided on the first turn, severely checking Brave Hearted and Winlock Jetty. Oddjob Lad visibly eased in the home straight and collided with New Cross Gate.
Oddjob Lad underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right shin soreness, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr W.Duniam, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Oddjob Lad was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Duniam reserved his plea to the charge, Oddjob Lad must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Flashy De Goey - the winner of the event.
