In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Hot Weather Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 29.8 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.0 degrees. 

Mr J. Hardy was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Lady Audacious pursuant to GAR 33.

Stewards conducted a check of catcher’s licences in accordance with LR 16.2 and all were compliant.

Chasin' Donuts, Can't Spell amd Legend Spy were slow to begin.

Lady Audacious, Thug Rose and Mane Toy collided soon after the start checking Thug Rose. Mane Toy and Kip Your Best collided at the 250m mark checking Mane Toy and Thug Rose. Lady Audacious crossed to the outside approaching the 200m mark and collided with Kip Your Best. Can't Spell and Mane Toy collided at the 150m mark. Lady Audacious crossed out approaching the 100m mark severely checking Kip Your Best and Galway Lights causing Kip Your Best to fall and pull up.

Galway Lights underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right quadriceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Kip Your Best underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey muscle, left calf muscle, right quadricep muscle and right pencil muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Staggermite stumbled at box rise and was very slow to begin - 6 lengths.

Legend Rose and Input Girl collided soon after the start. Rocky Infrared crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Tinker Cass and Empowered causing Legend Rose and Input Girl to collide as a result. Kip Your Star raced wide at the 200m mark checking Rocky Infrared. Rocky Infrared, Empowered and Legend Rose collided approaching the 100m mark. Kip Your Star raced erratically at the 100m mark

Kip Your Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right deltoid muscle and the right quadricep muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr S. Kipirtidis, the trainer of Kip Your Star regarding its performance at the 100m mark. Taking into consideration the  injuries the greyhound suffered in the event, Stewards  deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Kip Your Star must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Pranjip Zues - Late scratching at 10.19am on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a right stifle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Black Catani was slow to begin and crossed to the outside.

Magpie Robbie was slow to begin. 

Bruno He Mikado and Bombadier King collided soon after the start. Bombadier King crossed to the outside at the 275m mark. Federal Express and Bruno He Mikado collided at the 200m mark. Federal Express, Bruno He Mikado, Is This Martha and Rim Of Fire collided at the 175m mark checking Federal Express.

A pre-race sample was taken from New Sense.

Covfefe was slow to begin. 

Lily The Weapon and Lucky Paws collided soon after the start checking Lily The Weapon. Jupiter Ascending crossed to the outside at the 325m mark and raced wide throughout. Lily The Weapon checked off I'm Orion at the 275 mark. 

Keisha's Boy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have split webbing to the left hind leg. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Alfie Mikado and Gunmetal Liam were slow to begin.

Forgotten Girl and Gunmetal Liam collided soon after the start checking Hurricane Rose. Blazing Sword checked off Atarah approaching the 250m mark. Alfie Mikado and Gunmetal Liam collided at the 250m mark. Alfie Mikado, Hurricane Rose and Gunmetal Liam collided approaching the 150m mark checking Alfie Mikado. Hurricane Rose and Gunmetal Liam collided several times from the 100m mark to the 50m mark checking both greyhounds. Atarah checked off Forgotten Girl at the 100m mark checking Hurricane Rose and Gunmetal Liam.

Gray Grey Goose and Gold Odessa collided soon after the start. Blistering Betty checked off Winlock Homes soon after the start. Gold Odessa crossed to the inside approaching the 250m mark checking Doran's Call severely checking Superior Uno and Gold Odessa, Gold Odessa fell as a result. George Knockin' and Blistering Betty collided approaching the 50m mark checking both greyhounds.

Superior Uno underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right gluteals muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Gold Odessa underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right deltoid muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Manila Sprite upon arrival at the course.

Cool Rage and Superior Pal collided soon after the start. Crakerjack Roy and Manila Sprite collided soon after the start checking Crackerjack Roy. Manila Sprite crossed in at the 250m mark checking Crackerjack Roy, Superior Pal and Cool Rage. Superior Pal and Hagrid Grange collided at the 250m mark checking Crackerjack Roy. Crackerjack Roy checked off Superior Pal at the 225m mark.

No Standing and Awakened Dragon were slow to begin. 

Wild Bandit and Poppo's Darling collided at the 250m mark. Got Some Zip and Rio Dixie collided approaching the 200m mark. Black Zerbano and Rio Dixie collided approaching the 150m mark. Stray Cat and Wild Bandit collided at the 150m mark. No Standing and Stray Cat collided at the 50m mark. No Standing and Rio Dixie collided approaching the winning post.

Sam I'm Mikado crossed to the rail at the 150m mark.

Stewards spoke to Ms M. Barber, the trainer of Sam I'm Mikado and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 50m mark.

Buck The Jockey – New declared weight of 30.7kgs, last raced at 29.2kgs.

Murrabit Benny was slow to begin. 

Galo's Best and Goorawn collided soon after the start. Galo's Best and My Fernando Tim collided at the 250m mark. Galo's Best checked off Buck The Jockey at the 150m mark causing My Fernando Tim to cross to the outside checking Goorawin.

Wackadooka – New declared weight of 32.9kgs, last raced at 31.1kgs.

Wackadooka was quick to begin. Wackadooka, Bubsy John and Hanga collided approaching the 250m mark checking Hanga severely checking Meehan Pebbles. Meehan Pebbles checked off Hanga at the 250m mark. Meehan Pebbles and Jupiter Jones collided at the 250m mark.

A post-race sample was taken from Bubsy John - the winner of the event.

Meeting Comments

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were not satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

Stewards opened and finalised an inquiry into the circumstances of the transport used to convey greyhounds to Healesville today. Stewards issued a charge to Mr J. Boreland GAR 86 (ag) for failing to comply with a policy adopted by the Controlling Body in that Mr Boreland transported greyhounds, Worth Prince and Rio Dixie, in a trailer that was not air-conditioned, contrary to the GRV Transport Policy for Hot Weather affected meetings. Mr Boreland pleaded not guilty, Stewards found Mr Boreland guilty as charged and issued him with a $250 fine. In determining a penalty stewards considered breaches of the same nature.
