Steward's Report
Wackadooka – New declared weight of 32.9kgs, last raced at 31.1kgs.
Wackadooka was quick to begin. Wackadooka, Bubsy John and Hanga collided approaching the 250m mark checking Hanga severely checking Meehan Pebbles. Meehan Pebbles checked off Hanga at the 250m mark. Meehan Pebbles and Jupiter Jones collided at the 250m mark.
A post-race sample was taken from Bubsy John - the winner of the event.
Meeting Comments
During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were not satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.
Stewards opened and finalised an inquiry into the circumstances of the transport used to convey greyhounds to Healesville today. Stewards issued a charge to Mr J. Boreland GAR 86 (ag) for failing to comply with a policy adopted by the Controlling Body in that Mr Boreland transported greyhounds, Worth Prince and Rio Dixie, in a trailer that was not air-conditioned, contrary to the GRV Transport Policy for Hot Weather affected meetings. Mr Boreland pleaded not guilty, Stewards found Mr Boreland guilty as charged and issued him with a $250 fine. In determining a penalty stewards considered breaches of the same nature.
