Steward's Report
A pre–race urine sample was taken from Smokin' Blaster.
Jazz Hands and Smokin' Blaster were slow to begin.
Toe underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of the Trainer and was found to have spike wounds to the right hind toes. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Smokin' Blaster (turned its head to the inside at the100m mark and turned its head to the outside approaching the winning post) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left front dew claw. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Michael Hendy regarding Smokin' Blaster’s racing manners at the 100m mark and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Smokin' Blaster was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hendy pleaded guilty to the charge. Smokin' Blaster was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
