A pre-race sample was taken from Darcon Raider.
Watched was slow to begin. Darcon Raider and Lot Coin Babe collided approaching the first turn checking Darcon Raider. I'm Another Whiz, Split Pea and Double Supreme collided on the first turn checking I'm Another Whiz and Split Pea. I'm Another Whiz and Split Pea collided approaching the home turn. Lot Coin Babe was checked of Matilda Hook on the home turn. Matilda Hook and Lot Coin Babe collided in the home straight. Lot Coin Babe visibly eased approaching the winning post and collided with Matilda Hook.
Darcon Raider underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left deltoid and left groin. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Lot Coin Babe underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left monkey muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Karabitsakos regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1) Lot Coin Babe was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Karabitsakos pleaded guilty to the charge, Lot Coin Babe must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
