Night Fighter and Lektra Special collided soon after the start. Sachin Bale, Allen Barry, Lektra Special and Night Fighter collided approaching the first turn checking Allen Barry and Lektra Special. Sir Al checked off Brent Bale on the first turn severely checking Sir Al. Connemara Fire checked off Brent Bale approaching the home turn severely checking Night Fighter. Night Fighter checked off Lektra Special on the home turn and raced wide as a result. Lektra Special galloped in the heels of Allen Barry in the home straight checking Lektra Special and severely checking Allen Barry.
Allen Barry was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
