Steward's Report
Modern Icon and Noonbarra Jack were slow to begin.
Mrs. Sharp crossed to the rail approaching the first turn. Bartholomew Bale and Sunny's Kayo collided soon after the start. Modern Icon checked off Kilpatrick approaching the first turn and collided with Noonbarra Jack. Modern Icon, Noonbarra Jack, Bartholomew Bale and Sunny's Kayo collided on the first turn checking Bartholomew Bale, Sunny's Kayo and severely checking Modern Icon and Noonbarra Jack. Lily Pad and Insuperable collided on the first turn. Bartholmew Bale raced wide in the back straight checking Sunny's Kayo. Sunny's Kayo checked off Bartholomew Bale on the third turn. Sunny's Kayo faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off checking Noonbarra Jack.
Sunny's Kayo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasion to both hind feet and a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Modern Icon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards inspected a portion of the track approaching the home turn following this event and deemed it satisfactory for racing.
