Steward's Report
Diamond Cartel and Bernmar World were slow to begin. Diamond Cartel checked off Speed Demon approaching the first turn. Speed Demon crossed in approaching the first turn checking Unleash Betty. Flywheel Frankey checked off Shantelle Rose approaching the first turn. Mombasa and Speed Demon collided on the home turn. Diamond Cartel marred Bag Of Lollies from the first turn to the home straight causing both greyhounds to leave the track and subsequently pulled up.
Diamond Cartel underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms. O. Alcock, the handler of Diamond Cartel regarding the greyhound's racing manners from the first turn to the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Diamond Cartel was charged with marring. Ms. Alcock pleaded guilty to the charge, Diamond Cartel is suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(A) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Mombasa - the winner of the event.
