Stirling Lights crossed out soon after the start checking Annihilation, From The Brink, Fuel 'Em and My Luck Mia. Alquist and Darklight collided several times from soon after the start to the 200m mark. Stirling Lights crossed out at the 200m mark checking Fuel 'Em, Alquist and Darklight causing Sonic Sensation to fall. Alquist visibly eased approaching the 50m mark. Annihilation, Alquist and Darklight collided approaching the 50m mark. Fuel 'Em and My Lucky Mia collided approaching the 50m mark.
Sonic Sensation underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right quadriceps. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Alquist underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have soreness to the left digital flexor and a spike wound to the right metacarpal. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr A. Debattista the trainer, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Alquist was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Debattista pleaded not guilty to the charge, Alquist was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Darklight underwent a post-race veterinary examination following an incident in the catching pen - no apparent injury was reported.
