Steward's Report
Greta June and High Garden were slow to begin.
Akoya and Kip Your Star collided approaching the first turn checking Akoya. Bubba Jo and Kiwi Hustler collided on the first turn. Greta June ad Akoya collided on the first turn causing both greyhounds to race wide checking both greyhounds. High Garden eased on the first turn. Paxton eased in the home straight checking Honey's Destiny. Bubba Jo and Kiwi Hustler collided several times in the home straight. Kip Your Star eased approaching the winning post checking Bubba Jo and Kiwi Hustler.
Paxton underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 6. The greyhound was found to have a left fibula injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the representative Ms J. Gill, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Paxton was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Gill pleaded guilty to the charge, Paxton must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
High Garden underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8 - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms L. Dalziel, the representative of High Garden regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) High Garden was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Dalziel pleaded guilty to the charge, High Garden is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Kip Your Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Kipirtidis, the trainer of Kip Your Star regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Kip Your Star was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Kipirtidis pleaded guilty to the charge, Kip Your Star is suspended for 12 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c) before any future nomination will be accepted.
