Steward's Report
Aston Prestige and Attitude Plus were quick to begin.
Aston Kipchoge and Never Simple collided soon after the start checking Never Simple. Franco Fernando and Ovens Angler collided soon after the start checking Ovens Angler. Aston Kipchoge and Franco Fernando collided approaching the first turn. Hostile Savage and Franco Fernando collided on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds. Never Simple visibly eased on the first turn.
Never Simple underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right pencil muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr John Musselwhite, the representative of Never Simple regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Never Simple was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Musselwhite pleaded not guilty to the charge, Never Simple was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Aston Prestige - the winner of the event.
