Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Lady Emerald.
Sudden Force was quick to begin.
Corazon De Leon, Shots Fired, Lady Emerald and He Shall Rodger collided approaching the first turn checking Shots Fired, Lady Emerald and He Shall Rodger. He Shall Rodger, Aston Antoine, King Gristle and Madalia Ken collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds. He Shall Rodger, Lady Emerald and Aston Antoine collided on the second turn checking all three greyhounds. Madalia Ken turned its head inwards and collided with Corazon De Leon in the home straight.
Madalia Ken underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left and right hind legs, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr J. Connor, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Madalia Ken was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Connor pleaded guilty to the charge, Madalia Ken must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
