Wise Thunder – Late scratching at 9.47am when Mr J. Britton reported the greyhound to have a calf injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Loui Wonton, One Night Only and Vesper Bale collided soon after the start checking all three greyhounds. One Night Only and Omega Gringo collided approaching the first turn checking Omega Gringo. Vesper Bale and My Word Shirley collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Loui Wonton checked off Zambora Lion approaching the second turn checking Why Not Paps. One Night Only and Omega Gringo collided approaching the home turn checking One Night Only. One Night Only and Vesper Bale collided on the home turn.
Representative Mr R. Camilleri requested that My Word Shirley undergo a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left front foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Zambora Lion - winner of the event.
