Mt. View Nancy was slow to begin.
Our Henrietta turned its head inwards soon after the start and collided with Midnight Pompeii. Midnight Pompeii, Zipping Avril and Our Henrietta collided on the first turn severely checking Midnight Pompeii and Zipping Avril, Zipping Avril contacted the running rail and lost ground as a result. Mt. View Nancy and Midnight Pompeii collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Pontiac Moon and Our Henrietta collided entering the home straight checking Our Henrietta. Our Henrietta galloped on Pontiac Moon approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.
Zipping Avril underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg laceration. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Our Henrietta underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to havea left triangle injury and an abrasion to the left hind foot, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms S. Combridge, regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Our Henrietta was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms S. Combridge pleaded guilty to the charge, Our Henrietta must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
