Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Mullion Mayor.

Durant, Crackerjack Kane and Lightning Blast were slow to begin.

Havana Miss and Slick Riot collided on the first turn checking Havana Miss.  Crackerjack Kane and Lady Emerald collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Mullion Mayor checked off Slick Riot on the second turn checking Havana Miss.  Crackerjack Kane and Havana Miss collided in the back straight checking Havana Miss.  Durant and Slick Riot collided on the home turn checking Mullion Mayor.  Durant visibly eased and turned its head outwards entering the home straight checking Mullion Mayor.  

Durant underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr J. Ennis, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Durant was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Ennis pleaded guilty to the charge, Durant must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
