Stewards spoke to Trainer Ms K. Osborne regarding the improved performance of Legendary Lad in this event. Ms Osborne advised that Legendary Lad had missed the start in both its races which led to the kennel doing remedial box work. Ms Osborne added that tonight the greyhound begun well and was able to find the lead. When questioned about the expectations of both her runners, Phantom Call and Legendary Lad, Ms Osborne stated that the greyhounds have very similar ability and accordingly Ms Osborne placed a small wager on Legendary Lad due to the odds offered earlier today. Ms Osborne's comments were noted. As per routine all betting transactions on this event will be reviewed by the GRV betting analyst.

The Stewards noted the number 9 magnet was placed incorrectly above the number 5 starting box instead of the number 6 box. This had no material impact on the race as all greyhounds started from the correct box wearing the correct rugs.

Fireball Friday -  Late scratching at 4:29pm by Order of Stewards.  At a subsequent inquiry Trainer Mr G. Rounds pleaded guilty to a charge issued pursuant to GAR 86(o) (negligence). After considering the circumstances of the matter Mr Rounds was fined $200.
