Steward's Report
Split Pea, Bomber's Wonder and Flinders were quick to begin. Superior Cripps was slow to begin. Magpie Robbie and Superior Cripps collided approaching the first turn checking Magpie Robbie. Our Blue Spolly and Flinders collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Dashing Daph raced wide entering the home straight and in the home straight. Our Blue Spolly was checked off Bomber's Wonder in the home straight. Flinders turned its head approaching the winning post.
Flinders underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right calf and right hamstring. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mrs. J. McMahon regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Flinders was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Flinders must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
