In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees. 

Buddy Guy was slow to begin.

Shanlyn Haven and Shanlyn Rob collided soon after that start.  Shanlyn Haven crossed wide soon after the start causing Shanlyn Haven, Shanlyn Rob, Rock Me Gorgeous and My Dewana Penny to collide.  Shanlyn Haven raced wide on the first turn causing Shanlyn Haven and My Dewana Penny to collide causing Shanlyn Haven to check off My Dewana Penny approaching the second turn.  Mrs. Sharp checked off I'm A Krakouer on the first turn.  Buddy Guy checked off Shanlyn Rob approaching the second turn.  Shanlyn Rob checked off Mrs. Sharp entering the back straight causing Shanlyn Rob and Rock Me Gorgeous to collide.  Buddy Guy and Shanlyn Rob collided in the back straight checking Shanlyn Rob causing Shanlyn Rob and My Dewana Penny to collide.  My Dewana Penny, Shanlyn Rob and Rock Me Gorgeous collided on the third turn.  Golden Night checked off Shanlyn Rob approaching the home turn.  Shanlyn Haven raced wide throughout the event.  

Shanlyn Haven underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury.  No stand down period was imposed.

Crackerjack Daza was quick to begin.  Silver Smarty, Extreme Justice and Xera Bale were slow to begin.

Extreme Justice and Xera Bale collided soon after the start checking Xera Bale.  Miss Potential, Kiss Me Razley and Crackerjack Daza collided on the first turn.  Silver Smarty and Water Colour collided on the first turn.  Extreme Justice faltered in the front straight and pulled up.  Miss Potential and Silver Smarty collided entering the home straight.  

Extreme Justice underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr L. Forte the trainer of Summer Girl regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Mr Forte stated that the greyhound was well suited to this race and after obtaining a clear run and finding the rail the greyhound was able to perform to its ability.

Charlie Cockatoo and Kiss Me Nicki were quick to begin.

Reggae Mikado and Zipping Murphy collided soon after the start.  Premier Sticka and Gettysburg collided soon after the start.  Zipping Murphy checked off Kissable soon after the start.  Cee Me Snoop and Gettysburg collided on the first turn checking Gettysburg causing Gettysburg and Kissable to collide, causing Kissable and Reggae Mikado to race wide.  Gettysburg and Zipping Murphy collided approaching the second turn checking Gettysburg.  Kissable checked off Zipping Murphy entering the back straight.  Premier Sticka checked off Close Encounter entering the back straight.  Cee Me Snoop and Close Encounter collided in the back straight.  Gettysburg and Kissable collided on the third turn checking Gettysburg.  Kissable, Premier Sticka and Springvale Misty collided entering the home straight checking Premier Sticka and Springvale Misty.  Springvale Misty tied over the concluding stages.

Springvale Misty underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to a right shoulder soreness.  A 7 day stand period was imposed. 

Vesper Bale crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Golden Shiraz and Sideshow Marjen.  Sideshow Marjen, Vesper Bale, O'Sullivan, Soda Witch, Shima Rock and Wears Woodleigh collided on the first turn checking all six greyhounds.  Sideshow Marjen and Vesper Bale collided approaching the second turn.  O'Sullivan checked off Golden Shiraz entering the back straight.  Vesper Bale and O'Sullivan collided in the back straight.  Sideshow Marjen and Golden Shiraz collided on the third turn.  Wears Woodleigh checked off Soda Witch approaching the home turn.  Wears Woodleigh checked off Shima Rock entering the home straight.

Max Dynamo, Cruisy's Rose, Sedaka and Optimus Dusty collided soon after the start.  Idria Bale and Gloria Bale collided soon after the start, approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Sedaka and Optimus Dusty collide on the first turn checking both greyhounds, both lost ground as a result.  Little Tubbsy and Idria Bale collided entering the back straight.  Idria Bale, Gloria Bale and Little Tubbsy collided on the third turn checking Idria Bale and Little Tubbsy, causing Cruisy's Rose and Little Tubbsy to collide.  Max Dynamo and Ma's Plum Jam collided entering the home straight.
