Steward's Report
Due to the kennel being incorrectly secured Henessey Venom escaped from it's kennel prior to racing. Henessey Venom was vetted prior to the running of Race 8 and passed fit to race, the following incident has been referred to management.
A pre-race sample was taken from Shantelle Rose.
Immediate and Jackson County were slow to begin. Henessey Venom, Just Lovin' It and Audacious Grace collided entering the back straight checking Just Lovin' It severely checking Audacious Grace and Jackson County. My Attitude and Shantelle Rose collided on the home turn checking My Attitude. Immediate and Zipping Pink collided several times on the home turn. Just Lovin' It turned it's head outwards in the home straight and collided with Zipping Pink checking Immediate and Zipping Pink.
Zipping Pink underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Just Lovin' It underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10. Just Lovin' It was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Steve Healey representative of Just Lovin' It, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Just Lovin' It was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Healey pleaded not guilty to the charge. Just Lovin' It was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
