Steward's Report
Talulah Bale was slow to begin.
Philadelphia Pip, Mepunga Pegasus and Cosmic Sparkle collided soon after the start. Aston Chandon and Route Sixty Six collided soon after the start. Midnight Turbo, Aston Chandon and Route Sixty Six collided approaching the first turn. Cosmic Sparkle checked off Miss Potential approaching the first turn. Miss Potential, Philadelphia Pip, Route Sixty Six, Aston Chandon and Talulah Bale collided on the first turn severely checking Philadelphia Pip and Cosmic Sparkle, causing Mepunga Pegasus to fall. Talulah Bale checked off Aston Chandon entering the back straight. Miss Potential checked off Talulah Bale in the back straight. Midnight Turbo and Aston Chandon collided entering the home straight. Talulah Bale checked off Route Sixty Six in the home straight checking Miss Potential.
Philadelphia Pip underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the handler of Philadelphia Pip, Mr D. Chapman, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. After taking into account Mr Chapman's submissions regarding the severe interference on the first turn, and acting on their own observations, stewards issued the greyhound with a warning.
Mepunga Pegasus underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left sesamoid injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Cosmic Sparkle underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right trapezius injuries. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Aston Chandon - winner of the event.
