Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Spandau Ballet.
Rockstar Steffi and Rockstar Belle were quick to begin. Spandau Ballet and Dyna Virion were slow to begin.
Kessler Bale checked off Winsome Express approaching the second turn. Kessler Bale and Dyna Virion collided entering the back straight. Dyna Virion checked off Spandau Ballet in the back straight. Spandau Ballet visibly eased on the third turn and collided with Dyna Virion; Spandau Ballet subsequently tailed off.
Spandau Ballet underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10, no apparent injury could be detected.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jai Willoughby, the handler of Spandau Ballet regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Spandau Ballet was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Willoughby pleaded guilty to the charge, Spandau Ballet is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
