Neil's Wish and Rinkhale were quick to begin. Big Intention, Heather's Akira and Teegan's Lad collided soon after the start. Heather's Akira, Teegan's Lad, Vapour Trail and Bomb The Surf collided approaching the first turn. Big Intention and Heather's Akira collided on the first turn checking Heather's Akira and Teegan's Lad. Big Intention and Rinkhale collided approaching the second turn. Hay Affair Two and Neil's Wish collided approaching the second turn. Heather's Akira and Bomb The Surf collided approaching the second turn and again on the second turn, severely checking Heather's Akira, Vapour Trail and Bomb The Surf causing Teegan's Lad to fall. Heather's Akira, Vapour Trail and Bomb The Surf collided on the third turn. Neil's Wish eased approaching the home turn. Big Intention and Neil's Wish collided on the home turn. Neil's Wish eased in the home straight. Big Intention and Neil's Wish collided approaching the winning post.
Heather's Akira was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left forefoot, no stand down period was imposed.

Neil's Wish was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained graze marks to the left hind leg, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr N. Baker, Trainer of Neil's Wish. Stewards deemed the performance of Neil's Wish unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Neil's Wish must perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, before any future nomination will be accepted. Stewards also issued a warning to Mr Baker, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn and in the home straight.
Vapour Trail was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
