A pre-race sample was taken from Alfie's Affair.
Meehan Blue was slow to begin.
Agent Osti and Tinker Bess collided soon after the start. Undetectable checked off Meehan Blue soon after the start. Meehan Blue crossed to the outside at the 100m mark and faltered in turn checking Fruit Frames; Meehan Blue fell as a result.
Agent Osti underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fracture to the right radius and ulna and a fractured left wrist. Agent Osti was humanely euthanised.

Stewards inspected the track focusing at the 100m mark following the event and passed the surface at that point satisfactory for racing.
