Steward's Report
Guevara – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a left wrist injury.
Three Soldiers – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a fractured right fibula.
Roger That, Guevara and Three Soldiers collided soon after the start. Toonang and Shirdale Casey collided soon after the start checking Shirdale Casey. Roger That checked off Three Soldiers at the 300m mark. Toonang and Roger That collided at the 150m mark checking Roger That.
Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr W Rudd, regarding the betting activity on Betfair for Nangar Rippa. Mr Rudd could offer no explanation regarding the betting transactions on both Betfair and the TAB markets and stated that he did not support the greyhoundm Mr Rudd also advised that he had no communication with the connections leading into the event. Mr Rudd further stated that he expected a forward showing today and was disappointed the greyhound came in second place at Healesville on 12 April, 2019 after being beaten by a head. Stewards noted the explanation and directed a post-race sample be taken from Nangar Rippa - the winner of the event.
Three Soldiers underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
