Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to Mr.A. Blake, the trainer of Zipping Floyd regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Zipping Floyd last raced on 8th of October 2018. Mr. Blake stated that the greyhound was resuming from having its tonsils removed.  Mr.Blake also declared a new weight of 37.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Zipping Floyd last raced at 39.0kg.

Zelemar Jim and Zipping Floyd collided soon after the start. Zelemar Jim, Zipping Floyd and Tuscan Flex collided soon after the start. Xera Bale, Zipping Floyd and Tuscan Flex collided on the first turn. Tuscan Flex checked off Zipping Floyd on the first turn and again in the back straight. Happy Tails raced wide in the home straight. Xera Bale and Happy Tails collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Ms. B. Kinder, the trainer of the greyhound Xera Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Xera Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hind thigh, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Xera Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms. Kinder pleaded guilty to the charge, Xera Bale was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.
