In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed Heat Affected. The outside temperature when kennels opened was 36.5 degrees, the inside kennel temperature was 18.1 degrees.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 32.3 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 19.5 degrees. 

 Soda Crush, Shady Lee and Princess Pulse were quick to begin. All Inn Jye was slow to begin. Blanco Boy, Shady Lee and Princess Pulse collided soon after the start checking Blanco Boy and Shady Lee. Blanco Boy and Shady Lee collided approaching the first turn. Figment, Blanco Boy and Shady Lee collided on the first turn. Oriental Tiger and All Inn Jye collided on the first turn. Shady Lee checked off Figment on the first turn. Oriental Tiger and All Inn Jye collided on the home turn. All Inn Jye checked off Oriental Tiger on the home turn colliding with Blanco Boy which raced wide as a result. Yondu raced wide entering the home straight.

Tat Chloe was very slow to begin, 3 lengths.

I'm Easy Boys, Pictor Lucy, Cool Talent, Manila Beef and Cool Flow collided on the first turn checking Pictor Lucy, Cool Talent, Manila Beef and Cool Flow. Pictor Lucy and Crackerjack Yapa collided on the first turn checking Crackerjack Yapa, Cool Talent, Cool Flow and Tat Chloe. Crackerjack Yapa and Tat Chloe collided entering the home straight checking Tat Chloe. Cool Talent and Cool Flow collided entering the home straight.

Horey's Prince and Kraken Maxi collided on the first turn checking Kraken Maxi, Luka's Choice and Hello Cobber. Tat Ox and Hello Cobber collided on the home turn. Horey's Prince, Kraken Doll and Kraken Maxi collided entering the home straight checking Horey's Prince and Kraken Maxi. Fortnight Addict and Hello Cobber raced wide in the home straight.

Kraken Champ, Wendy Maria, Wicked Reason and Bashful Boy collided on the first turn checking Midnight Bling and Turanza Tiger severely checking Wendy Maria, Wicked Reason and Bashful Boy. Midnight Bling, Wendy Maria and Wicked Reason collided approaching the home turn.

Miss Bea was quick to begin. Stevie Gee was very slow to begin 2 lengths. Klondike Gold and My Kinda Song collided soon after the start. Klondike Gold, Some Spark and Tat Loxy collided approaching the first turn. Chase The Nugget and Stevie Gee collided on the first turn checking Chase The Nugget.

Chase The Nugget was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a track leg injury to the left hindleg, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Valletta Sky and Be Seeing You collided on the first turn. Valletta Sky, Be Seeing You and Star Catcher collided approaching the home turn checking Valletta Sky, Still Single and Star Catcher. Chilling Story and Star Catcher collided on the home turn. Valletta Sky, Still Single, Chilling Story, Star Catcher and Soda Geoff collided on the home turn checking Valletta Sky. Straaljagger faltered approaching the winning post.

Straaljager was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a calf injury to the right hindleg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr.B. Jones, the trainer of Valita regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Valita last raced on 15th of November 2018. Mr.Jones stated that the greyhound was resuming from a seasonal spell. 

A pre race sample was taken from Valita.

Iceni Skye, Glass Half Full, Kraken Mazing, Clovalley Mauri, Rhino Rex and Plumcad collided soon after the start checking Rhino Rex, Plumcad severely checking Kraken Mazing. Giant Bale and Valita collided approaching the first turn checking Giant Bale. Iceni Skye galloped on the heels of Glass Half Full approaching the first turn, Iceni Skye stumbled as a result. Valita and Rhino Rex collided on the first turn. 

Iceni Skye was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to the left foreleg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Glass Half Full was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr.A. Blake, the trainer of Zipping Floyd regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Zipping Floyd last raced on 8th of October 2018. Mr. Blake stated that the greyhound was resuming from having its tonsils removed.  Mr.Blake also declared a new weight of 37.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Zipping Floyd last raced at 39.0kg.

Zelemar Jim and Zipping Floyd collided soon after the start. Zelemar Jim, Zipping Floyd and Tuscan Flex collided soon after the start. Xera Bale, Zipping Floyd and Tuscan Flex collided on the first turn. Tuscan Flex checked off Zipping Floyd on the first turn and again in the back straight. Happy Tails raced wide in the home straight. Xera Bale and Happy Tails collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Ms. B. Kinder, the trainer of the greyhound Xera Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Xera Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hind thigh, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Xera Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms. Kinder pleaded guilty to the charge, Xera Bale was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr.M. Carter, the trainer of Millett regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Millett last raced on 6th of October 2018. Mr. Carter stated that the greyhound was resuming from a a seasonal spell.

A pre race sample was taken from Quen Bale.

Qatar Girl, Placid Murphy and Haddi Bale were slow to begin. Placid Murphy and Magic Shianne collided soon after the start checking Placid Murphy. Zharnel and Magic Shianne collided soon after the start. Qatar Girl, Quen Bale, Zharnel and Magic Shianne collided on the first turn checking Qatar Girl and severely checking Quen Bale and Zharnel.

Stewards spoke to Mr.B. Mcnamara, the representitive of Atlas Bombshell regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Atlas Bombshell last raced on 27th of September 2018. Mr.Mcnamara stated that the greyhound was resuming from a seasonal spell. 

Tana's Angel and Bear Cabang were slow to begin. Annaley Flash, All Inn Youi and Perfect Rider collided on the first turn checking All Inn Youi. Atlas Bombshell crossed to the rail on the first turn severely checking Annaley Flash, Perfect Rider and Bear Cabang. Annaley Flash and Bear Cabang raced wide entering the home straight. Hammer Head and Atlas Bombshell raced wide approaching the winning post.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 27.9 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.9 degrees.  

Krisbar Blue Fox and Rockin' In were quick to begin.

Krisbar Blue Fox and Door Keeper collided soon after the start.

Krisbar Blue Fox and Claretown Boris collided approaching the home turn.

Claretown Boris checked off Krisbar Blue Fox on the home turn.

Meeting Comments:

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all greyhound transportation vehicles at today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all Trainers had adhered to the hot weather transport policy.

Stewards spoke to Robert Hayes, the trainer of Barnhurst regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Barnhurst last raced on 05/07/18. Robert Hayes stated that the greyhound was resuming racing due to change of kennels and a spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Barnhurst trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 26.2, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.75 lengths. Barnhurst was Cleared.

Stewards spoke to Thordes Pakusch, the trainer of Buckle Up Eve regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Buckle Up Eve last raced on 27.1. Thordes Pakusch stated that the greyhound  was resuming racing due to a spell Pursuant to GAR 77A, Buckle Up Eve trialled over the 390m from box 3, weight 27.1, the greyhound was placed 6th in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound was beaten a margin of 17 lengths. Buckle Up Eve was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Spookie Midnight trialled over the 390m from box 8, weight 29.3, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound was beaten a margin of 1.75 lengths. Spookie Midnight was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Crying Paw trialled over the 390m from box 6, weight 30.0, the greyhound was placed 5 in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound was beaten a margin of 15 lengths. Crying Paw was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Terrigal Tornado trialled over the 390m from box 7, weight 28.9, the greyhound was placed 4 in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.35, the greyhound was beaten a margin of 13 lengths. Terrigal Tornado was Cleared.
