Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Starter, Mr. J. Larosa did not act in any official capacity for this event that may have had an effect on the outcome.
Arancini was slow to begin.
Calzone, Midnight Gieger and Twilight Connie collided approaching the first turn checking Calzone and Midnight Gieger. Calzone and Crying Paw collided approaching the first turn causing Crying Paw to contact the running rail as a result. Calzone and Twilight Connie collided on the first turn. Zafonic Zoom and Arancini collided on the home turn and again in the home straight. Crying Paw eased entering the home straight.
Crying Paw underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.
Twilight Connie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Basile, the trainer of Crying Paw regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Crying Paw was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Basile pleaded guilty to the charge, Crying Paw is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from All Inn Christy - winner of the event.
