A pre-race sample was taken from Cool De Beers.
Cool De Beers, Viewing and Fallen Star were slow to begin. Fairy Where, Screaming Oaks, My Names Rhonda and Dane Daisy collided on the first turn checking Mini Tron. My Names Rhonda and Dane Daisy collided approaching the home turn checking Dane Daisy. Cool De Beers was checked off Mini Tron entering the home straight. My Names Rhonda and Dane Daisy collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Conway the trainer of Galloping Tina regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Galloping Tina last raced on 20/11/17. Mr. Conway stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A Galloping Tina trialled over 400 metres from box 3, weight 28.3kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 6. The time of the trial was 22.86 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 13.5 lengths. Galloping Tina was cleared.
