Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from One Brew.

Zipping Chelse was quick to begin.

Owen Money, One Brew, Chill Out Isla and April Jay collided approaching the first turn, checking One Brew and Chill Out Isla. One Brew galloped on the heels of Chill Out Isla approaching the first turn. Owen Money, April Jay and Major Style collided on the first turn, checking Owen Money and April Jay. Itinerary turned its head outward and collided with Winter Soldier in the home straight and approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr B Pell, the kennel representative for the greyhound Itinerary, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Itinerary was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the front right leg, a three-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Itinerary with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Pell pleaded guilty to the charge, Itinerary was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Chill Out Isla was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right quadriceps muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Winter Soldier, the winner of the event.
