It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the front right leg, a three-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Itinerary with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Pell pleaded guilty to the charge, Itinerary was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Chill Out Isla was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right quadriceps muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Brian Hodgson, the trainer of the greyhound Cool Flow, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Cool Flow with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hodgson declined  a revet and pleaded guilty to the charge, Cool Flow was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Simon Barker, the trainer of Lashil, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Lashil last raced on 29 September 2017. Mr Barker stated that the greyhound had changed kennels. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Lashil trialled over the 450m from box one, weight 28.6kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.75, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.5L. Lashil was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Polly's Nigel trialled over the 450m from box three, weight 34.2kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.75, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.75L. Polly's Nigel was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Mahoney Miss trialled over the 450m from box five, weight 28.9kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.75, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 0.5L. Mahoney Miss was cleared.
