Steward's Report
Prior to the commencement of kennelling, Stewards were contacted by Ms J Ward (on behalf of Trainer - Mr G Gledhill), to advise that they were experiencing traffic delays en route to the track. As a result, Stewards officially closed kennelling time at 4:40pm to allow the presentation of greyhounds Prince Mark (R7) and Top Alcohol (R8). Stewards were satisfied with the explanation of Mr. G Gledhill and no action was taken.
Aztec Warrior was slow to begin. Why Not Fletch and Happy Cruising collided soon after the start. Playlord and Aztec Warrior collided approaching the first turn, checkinng Playlord. Happy Cruising and Moondust collided approaching the first turn. Moondust checked off Happy Cruising on the first turn, checking Big Cam, and severely checking Moondust which lost ground as a result. Aztec Warrior checked off Cosmic Fantasy approaching the home turn. Aztec Warrior raced wide on the home turn. Why Not Fletch and Chief Siyan collided several times in the home straight.
Moondust was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg back muscle injury, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.
