A pre-race sample was taken from Gai Keeping.
Aston Axel and Typhoon Tessie were quick to begin.
Wolf Point was slow to begin. You Aussie and Pinnaroo collided soon after the start causing Pinnaroo to stumble and lose considerable ground. Aston Axel and Typhoon Tessie collided on the home turn.
Pinnaroo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
A post-race sample was taken from Aston Axel, winner of the event.
