No Talking, Fast Talker and Whynot Gazza were slow to begin. Fast Talker and Whynot Gazza collided soon after the start. No Talking was checked off Velocity Dory on the first turn, No Talking lost ground as a result. Dr. Mianda and No Talking collided on the first turn. Darcon Flash, Fast Talker and Whynot Gazza collided approaching the home turn. Darcon Flash eased and failed to pursue the lure on the home turn severely checking Fast Talker and Whynot Gazza. Velocity Dory was checked off Inter Mimi on the home turn. Darcon Flash and Whynot Gazza collided twice approaching the winning post.
Sabakat underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Conway the trainer of Darcon Flash regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Darcon Flash was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Conway pleaded guilty to the charge, Darcon Flash is suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
