Select Minister and Ninetymile Lenny were slow to begin. Ninetymile Turbo, Mossy Oak, Bluehawk Robert and Shotgun Shiloh collided soon after the start checking Ninetymile Turbo and Shotgun Shiloh. Ninetymile Turbo, Select Minister and Shotgun Shiloh collided on the first turn.

A pre-trial sample was taken from Alberto.
Alberto performed a Stewards satisfactory trial as the greyhound was stood down from racing at Sale for failing to pursue the lure with due committment due to injury. Weighing 31.0kg and beginning from box 2, Alberto completed the 400 metres trial distance in a time of 22.90 secs. Alberto placed first in a field of 4 winning by 2.5 lengths. Alberto was cleared to race at all tracks except Sale.
Track Curator Mr. M. Bickerdike advised that the track was medium harrowed on 29/04/19.
