Alcantara and Go Twenty Two were slow to begin. Alcantara and Meraki collided on the first turn checking Meraki. Seve Rose, Meraki, Macs Road and Go Twenty Two collided on the first turn checking Seve Rose and Go Twenty Two and severely checking Macs Road and Meraki. Lightwood Lass raced wide in the home straight.
Meraki underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.
