In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed Heat Affected.  The outside temperature when kennels opened was 33.9 degrees.

The outside temperature at race start time was 34.0 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 19.3 degrees, and the humidity was 37.5%.

The start of this race was delayed by approximately 3 1/2 minutes to allow the cover to be placed on the lure carriage. Stewards will follow up with Club management as to why this had not taken place. 

Wally Milne crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Neil's Girl and Someone Blue collided soon after the start.  Ashby Quick and Someone Blue collided on the first turn, severely checking Ashby Quick which lost ground as a result.  Wally Milne and Someone Blue collided approaching the home turn, checking Someone Blue which lost ground as a result.

Ashby Quick was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg pencil/whip injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Lil Black Jess was slow to begin.  First Responder and Moonie Cyclone collided soon after the start.  Moonie Cyclone checked off Got An Engine on the first turn.  Yaritza Allen and Crymelon Tess collided on the first turn, checking Crymelon Tess.  Zipping Eleanor checked off Got An Engine approaching the home turn, checking Yaritza Allen.  Jacobite Hammer and Crymelon Tess collided approaching the home turn, checking Crymelon Tess.  Crymelon Tess raced wide approaching the home turn, checking Yaritza Allen.  First Responder raced wide on the home turn.  Zipping Eleanor, Got An Engine and Jacobite Hammer collided in the home straight.  Got An Engine checked off Zipping Eleanor approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr C Colaiacovo, the representitive of Tasvilla, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Tasvilla last raced on 18 September 2018.  Mr Colaiacovo stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasponal spell.

Aston Lily was vetted prior the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Aston Lily was passed it to race.

Dee Nine and Aston Lily were slow to begin.  Tasvilla, Blockette and Miss Terindah collided soon after the start, checking Blockette.  Tasvilla checked off Miss Terindah approaching the first turn.  Miss Terindah and Dee Nine collided approaching the home turn.  Tasvilla and Aston Lily collided approaching the home turn, checking Tasvilla.  Miss Terindah and Hurricane Rose collided approaching the winning post.

Tye Me Chopper was quick to begin.  Wok Fried Yabby and Dragonstone collided soon after the start.  Tye Me Chopper, Dragonstone and Brake Drum collided on the first turn, checking Dragonstone.  Tye Me Chopper and Brake Drum collided approaching the home turn, checking Tye Me Chopper and Dragonstone.  Dragonstone and Blackpool Floss collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Ms S Elmes, the trainer of Vectis Campinae, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Vectis Campinae last raced on 16 September 2018.  Ms Elmes stated that the greyhound was returing to racing following a change of kennel.  Ms Elmes, trainer of Vectis Campinae, declared a new weight of 32.8 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Vectis Campinae last raced at 34.0 kgs.

Culloden Chief, Vectis Campinae and Super Blu collided soon after the start, checking Vectis Campinae.  Saint Destructor and Super Blu collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Vectis Campinae raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr D Geall, the trainer of the greyhound Super Blu, regarding the greyhound's manners approaching the winning post.  After viewing the official footage and taking evidence from Mr Geall, Stewards took no further action.
