Steward's Report
Mini Fernando was slow to begin. Flying Joker, Rhino Rex and Dum Didee Dum collided approaching the first turn. Kiewa Cowboy eased approaching the first turn and collided with Rhino Rex. Flying Joker, Dum Didee Dum and Troy Boyce collided on the first turn. Kiewa Cowboy raced wide in the home straight.
Kiewa Cowboy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Mr W. Leitch, the trainer of the greyhound Kiewa Cowboy regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the back straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Kiewa Cowboy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Leitch pleaded guilty to the charge, Kiewa Cowboy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
