Steward's Report
Ms B. Glen, trainer of Proven Les declared a new weight of 28.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Proven Les last raced at 29.7kg.
Shakey Cougar and Amani were slow to begin.
Magic Maya and Dontron collided soon after the start checking Magic Maya. Just Jimmy and Magic Maya collided approaching the 250m mark. Magic Maya and Shakey Cougar collided at the 250m mark. Just Jimmy and Magic Maya collided approaching the 100m mark. Shakey Cougar eased approaching the winning post. Pharoah's Dream raced wide throughout the event.
Shakey Cougar was vetted and after being re-vetted following Race 11, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a mild abrasion to the right hind, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Calven Russell, the trainer of the greyhound Shakey cougar regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Mr C. Russell with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Russell pleaded guilty to the charge, Shakey Cougar was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
