Mr J. Interligi was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card/weight card was produced for the greyhound Inter Joe pursuant to GAR 33.

Stewards spoke to starter, Mr J. Ryan and reminded of his responsibilities after failing to remove the positioning guide for the boxes. The positioning guide was released by the boxes as they opened and did not affect the start of the event. The incident was reported to the Club Manager.

What Feeling was slow to begin.

Don's Queen and Wake Up Wilma collided soon after the start. Mariah's Moon and La Coconut collided soon after the start and again at the 250m mark. Mariah's Moon, La Coconut and Miss Cheekiness collided approaching the 200m mark. Avatar Willow checked off Miss Cheekiness at the 100m mark. Avatar Willow and Miss Cheekiness collided at the 50m mark checking Avatar Willow.

Ms N. Lund, trainer of Ko Mai Si declared a new weight of 29.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ko Mai Si last raced at 27.7kg.

Stewards spoke to Ms S Greening, the representative of Punch Out regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Punch Out last raced on the 15th August 2018. Ms Green stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a seasonal spell.

Ko Mai Si, Ko Rapid Jack and Punch Out were slow to begin.

Pennyroyal Tee, Goofey Express and Chopping Spuds collided soon after the start. Busy Bella crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Ko Rapid Jack, Goofey Express and Inter Santina and severely checking Pennyroyal Tee and Chopping Spuds, Chopping Spuds stumbled and Busy Bella fell as a result. 

Busy Bella was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A pre-race sample was taken from Panther Lane.

Inter Mimi stumbled at box rise and was very slow to begin (3L).

Lady Bang Bang and Mr. Fabulous collided soon after the start. Mr. Fabulous checked off Sylo at the 300m mark. Big Fat Goalie and La Caprice collided approaching the 250m mark. Big Fat Goalie checked off La Caprice at the 200m mark. Inter Mimi was held up for a run approaching the winning post. 

Blueflash Lenny and Aztec Warrior were slow to begin.

She Ignites crossed to the outside at the 200m mark.

Regal Duke was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing on the front right foot, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Lady Nina was slow to begin.

Pectoralis and Inter Cody collided soon after the start. Wild Bandit, Almendra and Arachnophobia collided soon after the start checking Almendra. Lightning Ben, Bags Of Bucks and Inter Cody collided approaching the 250m mark. Almendra crossed to the outside approaching the 200m mark. Lightning Ben checked off Inter Cody approaching the 100m mark.

Pursuant to GAR 104 (7) steward D. Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.

Cullquin Panda was a late scratching at 9:08am due to a monkey muscle injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Pergamon was slow to begin.

Just Blacky and Maggie Mikado collided soon after the start. Maggie Mikado, Lily The Weapon and Sonny Micawber collided soon after the start. Just Blacky and Sonny Micawber collided several times from the 200m mark to the 150m mark. Destini Florida and Well Armed collided several times from the 150m mark to the 50m mark. Maggie Mikado and Lily The Weapon collided at the 150m mark. Just Blacky and Maggie Mikado collided approaching the winning post.

Ms B. Glen, trainer of Proven Les declared a new weight of 28.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Proven Les last raced at 29.7kg.

Shakey Cougar and Amani were slow to begin.

Magic Maya and Dontron collided soon after the start checking Magic Maya. Just Jimmy and Magic Maya collided approaching the 250m mark. Magic Maya and Shakey Cougar collided at the 250m mark. Just Jimmy and Magic Maya collided approaching the 100m mark. Shakey Cougar eased approaching the winning post. Pharoah's Dream raced wide throughout the event.

Shakey Cougar was vetted and after being re-vetted following Race 11, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a mild abrasion to the right hind, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Calven Russell, the trainer of the greyhound Shakey cougar regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Mr C. Russell with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Russell pleaded guilty to the charge, Shakey Cougar was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Ms J. Fothergill, handler of Wolf Point, and reminded her of her responsibilities regarding the GRV dress code, LRR22.

Wolf Point and Tamile Lass crossed to the rail at the 300m mark colliding with Go Didda Go, checking Wolf Point, Tamile Lass and Azure Dragon. Go Didda Go crossed to the outside approaching the 200m mark. Azure Dragon checked off Don's Machine at the 150m mark. Shimmy Dat Ray and Azure Dragon collided approaching the winning post.

Black In Town and Winlock Blue Boy collided at the 250m mark checking both greyhounds. Madonya, Coconut Gloria, Bowie Boy and Spring Nugget collided at the 200m mark checking Madonya, Bowie Boy, Winlock Blue Boy and severely checking Coconut Gloria. Madonya and Spring Nugget collided at the 150m mark checking Madonya. Madonya and Bowie Boy collided approaching the 100m mark. Black In Town checked off Winlock Bowie Boy at the 50m mark and crossed to the outside causing Arlecchino to gallop on the heels of Black In Town checking Arlecchino and Bowie Boy and severely checking Black In Town and Madonya.

Ms B. Glen, trainer of Kernel Panic declared a new weight of 33.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Kernel Panic last raced at 35.4kg.

Mr T. Duncan, trainer of She's A Rebel declared a new weight of 28.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). She's A Rebel last raced at 26.9kg. Stewards spoke to Mr T. Duncan regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  She's A Rebel last raced on the 26th September 2018. Mr Duncan stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a change of kennel and a seasonal spell.

Major Gas was slow to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start.

Jupiter Asending and Eggeb Mai collided soon after the start. Brave Innings and Jupiter Asending collided at the 250m mark checking Jupiter Asending. Jupiter Asending checked off Brave Innings at the 150m mark. Jupiter Asending checked off Primrose Diamond at the 100m mark and crossed to the outside.

Steward’s issued a warning, under GAR 86(o), to Mr D. Willcocks, after he negligently failed to catch the greyhound Primrose Diamond in this event.

Marlow's Angel, Subscapularis, Flash Frankie and Aston Jynx were slow to begin.

Flash Frankie, Aston Jynx and Pinciotti collided soon after the start checking Aston Jynx. Pinciotti crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Flash Frankie, Supscapularis and Marlow's Angel. Little Dynamo and Pinciotti collided at the 250m mark. Pinciotti checked off Chloe Crumpet at the 250m mark. Marlow's Angel checked off Subscapularis at the 100m mark.

Speed Alert was slow to begin.

Perfect Rider and Slipaway Bolt collided approaching the 200m mark. Speed Alert and Lunar Shadow collided approaching the 150m mark checking both greyhounds. Lunar Shadow checked off Crackerjack Mick at the 100m mark. Courage Crest checked off Unexplainable approaching the 50m mark and crossed out. Speed Alert and Crackerjack Mick collided approaching the 50m mark. Speed Alert checked off Crackerjack Mick approaching the winning post checking Crackerjack Mick.

Meeting Comments:

Stewards were advised by Healesville track officials that remedial works and top dressing were performed on the track on Tuesday 18th December 2018.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr G. Laidley, the trainer of Challis Magic regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Challis Magic last raced on the 17th June 2018. Mr Laidley stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following an injured right hock. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Challis Magic trialled over the 300m from box 2, weight 31.4kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 16.83, the greyhound won by a margin of 3.25L. Challis Magic was Cleared.
