Steward's Report
Stewards were required to use a swab bay kennel to accommodate the greyhound Emma's Not Happy due to a problem with the allocated kennel (#62).
Ruby's Rosa and Krisbar Wee Wow were slow to begin.
Lock Pepper and Faye's Not Fazed collided soon after the start. Blackwater Girl and Federal Reason collided at the 250m mark. Krisbar Wee Wow crossed to the outside at the 250m mark and collided with Northern Rocket. Faye's Not Fazed failed to pursue the lure with due comittment approaching the 50m mark and collided with Federal Reason several times until approaching the winning post. Lock Pepper and Blackwater Girl collided approaching the 50m mark and again on approaching the winning post.
Faye's Not Fazed was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left dew claw. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jye Formosa, the kennel representative for the greyhound Faye's Not Fazed, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the 50m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Faye's Not Fazed with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Faye's Not Fazed was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
