Darcon Raider underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have and injured left monkey muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Violation and Brother Cousin were quick to begin.  Ask Yourself, Akina Blaze and Tolerant were slow to begin.  Brother Cousin, Akina Blaze, Tolerant, Evolution and Archie Rocks collided soon after the start.  Ask Yourself and Tolerant collided approaching the first turn.  Tolerant was checked off Akina Blaze on the first turn.  Violation and Brother Cousin collided on the home turn.  Violation and Evolution collided entering the home straight.

Tolerant underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left elbow and left monkey muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Bright Heart and Boscono were slow to begin.  Talk Talk Talk and Is All collided soon after the start.  Is All and Threadin' Mikado collided approaching the first turn checking Is All.  Is All contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost considerable ground.  Talk Talk Talk was checked off Threadin' Mikado on the first turn.

Is All underwent a post race veterinary examination and there was no apparent injured reported.

Stewards enquired into the scratching of two of Mr. W. McMahon's four greyhounds engaged in this event.  Mr. McMahon stated he had recently trialled Alberto and Alon and in his opinion the greyhounds were not fit to fulfill their engagement in this event, Stewards noted Mr. McMahon's explanation.

Voluptuous Blue and Splinter were slow to begin.  Splinter galloped on Knockout Fantasy soon after the start.  Rum Dum was checked off Husky Beatle on the first turn.  Husky Beatle and Knockout Fantasy collided on the home turn.  Knockout Fantasy crossed out and turned its head entering the home straight checking Lance Link.  Husky Beatle was checked off Knockout Fantasy in the home straight.

Knockout Fantasy underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left elbow.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Clark the trainer of Knockout Fantasy regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Knockout Fantasy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Clark pleaded not guilty to the charge, Knockout Fantasy was found guilty and suspended for 3 months all tracks and must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Gojek was a late scratching at 6.12pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Mr. S. Lithgow was fined $100.

A pre-race sample was taken from Hot Fiasco.

Berry Bound and Velocity Dory were slow to begin.  Macs Road and Berry Bound collided on the first turn.  Velocity Dory was checked off Dyna Drew on the first turn.  Gotham Queen was checked off Dyna Drew on the home turn.  Macs Road and Velocity Dory collided on the home turn.  Hot Fiasco and High Tale collided entering the home straight.

Satisfactory trial results:-

The following greyhounds performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial - the trial took place over 400 metres with two greyhounds required to trial.  The winning time of the trial was 23.12 secs.

Vis Vitae finished first,  Jaguar Jessie finished fourth.

Vis Vitae was stood down from racing at Warragul for failing to chase and has not competed in an event for in excess of six months due to a left wrist operation.  Weighing 26.7kg and beginning from box 1 winning by a head.  Vis Vitae has been cleared to race all tracks.

Jaguar Jessie was stood down from racing at Cranbourne for marring.  Weighing 28.3kg and beginning from box 8 beaten by 14.5 lengths.  Jaguar Jessie has not been cleared to race due to easing several times in the run.
