A pre-race sample was taken from Rixy Ya Pest upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Buck's Future crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Buck's Future, Cash Point and Blackjack Neo.  Blackjack Neo checked off Penta Allen approaching the first turn.  Cawbourne Swade, Penta Allen, Rixy Ya Pest and Bago Bye Bye collided approaching the first turn checking Cawbourne Swade, Penta Allen and Rixy Ya Pest.  Penta Allen and Rixy Ya Pest collided on the first turn.  Blackjack Neo checked off Rixy Ya Pest on the first turn.  Cawbourne Swade and Rixy Ya Pest collided approaching the second turn checking Rixy Ya Pest, Buck's Future, Blackjack Neo and Cash Point.  Rixy Ya Pest checked off Blackjack Neo on the third turn checking Buck's Future.  Buck's Future and Rixy Ya Pest collided approaching the home turn checking Buck's Future.  Rixy Ya Pest checked off Cawbourne Swade entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Darren Russell following the impressive win of Bago Bye Bye in Heat 8 of the Australian Cup in a Best of the Night time of 29.53. Mr Russell advised Stewards that Bago Bye Bye is one the fastest greyhounds he has ever trained and that he recently raced in New Zealand with great success and claimed a track record in the process. Since returning to Austaralia, Bago Bye Bye has had some time off racing to re-acclimatise but also had some niggling injuries which has prevented him from racing for around two months. Bago Bye Bye had recently public trialled here at the Meadows well enough to give connections confidence that a strong first-up performance in the Australian Cup series was possbile, if not likely. Connections supported Bago Bye Bye to win the series. A urine sample was taken for analysis.
