Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Weetbix Bites.
Kernel Panic and Flying Jamaica were slow to begin. Weetbix Mini crossed to the rail appraoching the first turn checking Weetbix Bites and Rowchester Miss. Fess Crockett checked off Clovally Granite appraoching the first turn. Weetbix Bites, Rowchester Miss and Flying Jamaica collided on the first turn checking Rowchester Miss and Flying Jamaica. Dyna Uni and Kernel Panic collided on the first turn. Fess Crockett and Dyna Uni collided on the second turn. Rowchester Miss checked off Fess Crockett entering the back straight. Flying Jamaica checked off Weetbix Mini approaching the third turn. Kernel Panic tired over the concluding stages.
Kernel Panic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs B. Glen representative of the greyhound Kernel Panic in regards to the greyhounds performance. Mrs Glen stated that it was the greyhounds first start on a two turn track and also over the 525m distance. Stewards noted Mrs Glens explanation and took no further action.
