Racing Pulse, Lightning Blast and Weeona Pete were slow to begin.  I'm Giggling Now and Lightning Blast collided on the first turn checking Cee Me Ignite and severely checking I'm Giggling Now and Weeona Pete I'm Giggling Now lost ground as a result.  Lightning Blast was checked off Racing Pulse entering the home straight.

Nangkita Keats was a late scratching at 12.13pm due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards have ordered Mr Ray Floyd to present Nangkita Keats to the Maffra Vet Clinic tommorrow for an examination.  

Curnow Keats was quick to begin.  Ado Carr was slow to begin.  Puerto Reiko was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Bruce's Back raced wide on the home turn.  

Horus Blue was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Ado Carr was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right chest muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards opened an inquiry into the bona fides of this race and in particular into the circumstances surrounding the late scratching of Nangkita Keats (1) at 12.13pm today, leaving Curnow Keats (2) a vacant box to its inside. Both greyhounds are owned by Mr Shane Keating and trained by Mr Ray Floyd. Stewards interviewed Mr Floyd and Mr Keating via telephone this afternoon. During the course of the inquiry, Mr Floyd was directed in accordance with GAR 23 (3), to present Nangkita Keats to the Maffra Vet Clinic within 24 hours. No further nominations will be accepted for Nangkita Keats, pending the Stewards satisfaction with this certificate. A full review of market fluctuations and betting analysis for this race has been requested by Stewards from GRV Betting Analysts and other sporting bookmakers. A pre-race urine and a post-race blood sample were taken from Curnow Keats, the winner of the event.  Due to the nature of the case and that several matters are as yet to be resolved, the inquiry has been adjourned to a date to be fixed.

Supplementary Report: Mr Ray Floyd presented Nangkita Keats to the Gippsland Vet Clinic in Maffra as directed on Wednesday 13 February 2019. A veterinary certificate stating Nangkita Keats was ill (gastro) was provided to Stewards.

Additional Supplementary Report: The betting data was reviewed by the GRV betting analyst who advised Stewrads that there were no concerns held with the betting activity around this race. The Stewards were satisfied as to the circumstances of the withdrawal of Nangkita Keats from this race and the matter is now considered finalised.

Invictus Coco was a late scratching at 6.00pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to a papilloma.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Full Tilt was quick to begin  Dyna Terror, Weeona Raph, Damnation and Zipping Chaser were slow to begin.  Twenty Tamar and Full Tilt collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds, Twenty Tamar lost ground as a result.  Beau Gem raced wide on the first turn checking Zipping Chaser.  Weeona Raph clipped the heels of Shannon Allen on the home turn.

Karaka, Sergeant Schultz and Diesel Turbo were quick to begin.  Dyna Arrow, Murray Mojito and Weeona Bulldozer were slow to begin.  Karaka, Red Hot Attitude and Sergeant Schultz collided approaching the first turn checking Karaka, Red Hot Attitude and Zed Merrett.  Murray Mojito and Diesel Turbo collided approaching the first turn checking Diesel Turbo.  Karaka and Murray Mojito collided approaching the home turn checking Murray Mojito.  Diesel Turbo was checked off Murray Mojito approaching the home turn.  Sergeant Schultz and Weeona Bulldozer collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn causing Sergeant Schultz to race wide and check Weeona Bulldozer.  Dyna Arrow eased and failed to pursure the lure on the home turn.  Red Hot Attitude raced wide on the home turn.  Karaka and Weeona Bulldozer collided approachng the winning post.

Dyna Arrow was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 10, it was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Ms. T. Collins the representative for Dyna Arrow regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Dyna Arrow with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Ms. Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Dyna Arrow was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Little Big Shot was a late scratching at 6.20pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Zipping Bomber and Mo Daniher were slow to begin.  Dream Gem and El Helecho collided approaching the first turn checking Dream Gem.  Mo Daniher raced wide on the home turn.

Dyna Eleana was quick to begin.  Rojo Ollie was slow to begin.  Weeona Roger, Zipping Kiera, Bavaro and Mayhem Express collided soon after the start checking Zipping Kiera and Mayhem Express.  Bavaro crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Weeona Roger and Rojo Ollie.  Dyna Eleana and Bavaro collided several times from the home turn to in the home straight.  Dyna Eleana, Midnight Waltz and Bavaro collided approaching the winning post.

Bally Beckham was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a lost nail on the right dew claw, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Briffa the representative for Dyna Forrest regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Dyna Forrest last raced on 15/09/18.  Mr. Briffa stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right triangle muscle injury.

Libby's Dream and Nash Road Betty collided soon after the start checking Nash Road Betty.  Serious Bolt and Tito Mojito collided approaching the first turn.  Libby's Dream, Dyna Forrest and Challis Sprite collided approaching the first turn checking Dyna Forrest and Libby's Dream.  Tito Mojito clipped the heels of Serious Bolt on the first turn.  Serious Bolt raced wide in the home straight.

Secret Business was quick to begin.  Gee Dalton and Crickets Dash collided soon after the start checking Gee Dalton.  Crickets Dash was checked off Secret Business approaching the first turn.  Buck the Jockey and Superior Primo collided on the first turn.  Crickets Dash and Go Zippy Go collided on the first turn checking Go Zippy Go.  Crickets Dash and Go Zippy Go collided approaching the home turn severely checking Go Zippy Go.  Crickets Dash and Princess America collided on the home turn.

Go Zippy Go was vettted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Meeting comments:-

Dewana Interest was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.  Dewana Interest was cleared for racing. 

There was a short delay announcing the all clear for races 1-10 due to a fault with the on course vision.

Satisfactory trial results (GAR 77A):-

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Floyd the trainer of Dyna Carver regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Dyna Carver last raced on 08/04/18.  Mr. Floyd stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel and a spell.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Dyna Carver trialled over 400 metres from box 8, weight 31.4kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.12 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.5 lengths.  Dyna Carver was cleared.
