Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Akathiotis, the trainer of Blue Hazard, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Blue Hazard last raced at The Meadows on 13 June 2018. Mr Akathiotis stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a left hock injury.
Stewards interviewed licensed trainer, Mr Joshua Formosa, representing trainer Mr Jason Formosa, after he failed to produce the registration papers for Electric Hippy. Stewards, in accepting Mr Formosa's explanation, took no further action other than to remind Mr Formosa of his responsibilities and that any future non-production of papers will result in a fine being issued.
Stewards spoke to Ms Katrina Evans regarding her lack of control when boxing Jack Skywalker for this event. Stewards took into consideration that this was Ms Evans' first race start after recently obtaining her licence and took no action as a result.
Kimura jumped in the air at box rise and was slow to begin.
Shazza's Gift and Shady Thief collided soon after the start, approaching the 250m mark and again at the 250m mark. Shady Thief and New Fire Girl collided at the 50m mark.
