Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr K Quinn, representing trainer Mr Noel Carthew, regarding the length of time Don's Magic has had between races. Don's Magic last raced at Bendigo on 25 April 2018. Mr Quinn stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a seasonal condition.
Luca Flyer was slow to begin.
Tusksa crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Renegade and Hello Mr Duck. Hello Mr Duck and Renegade collided several times approaching the 200m mark, checking both greyhounds. Tusksa and Agent Osti collided approaching the 200m mark, checking both greyhounds. Hello Mr Duck and Renegade collided at the 200m mark, checking both greyhounds. Don's Magic faltered approching the 100m mark.
Stewards withheld "all clear" to view the official video film of the lure driving over the concluding stages of the Event. After viewing both the patrol and head-on footage, Stewards were satisfied that no greyhounds were disadvantaged and the "all clear" was given on the Judges' numbers 6-7-2-1.
Don's Magic was vetted and revetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury. The greyhound was revetted at 3.37pm and found to have sustained injuries to the right stopper and left hip. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
