Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Akathiotis, the trainer of Blue Hazard, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Blue Hazard last raced at The Meadows on 13 June 2018. Mr Akathiotis stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a left hock injury.

Stewards interviewed licensed trainer, Mr Joshua Formosa, representing trainer Mr Jason Formosa, after he failed to produce the registration papers for Electric Hippy. Stewards, in accepting Mr Formosa's explanation, took no further action other than to remind Mr Formosa of his responsibilities and that any future non-production of papers will result in a fine being issued.

Stewards spoke to Ms Katrina Evans regarding her lack of control when boxing Jack Skywalker for this event. Stewards took into consideration that this was Ms Evans' first race start after recently obtaining her licence and took no action as a result.

Kimura jumped in the air at box rise and was slow to begin.

Shazza's Gift and Shady Thief collided soon after the start, approaching the 250m mark and again at the 250m mark. Shady Thief and New Fire Girl collided at the 50m mark.

Handsome Jake was a late scratching at 11:06AM on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a laceration on the tail. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

Eggeb Mai and News Print collided soon after the start. Undetectable and Miss Pocket Aces collided soon after the start. Eggeb Mai and News Print collided approaching the 300m mark, checking both greyhounds. Macs Model, Undetectable and Miss Pocket Aces collided at the 300m mark. Macs Model and Undetectable collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Macs Model and in turn severely checking News Print and Eggeb Mai. Eggeb Mai checked off Cartwheel Chloe approaching the winning post. Miss Pocket Aces and Where's Lola collided approaching the winning post.

Tarree's Ruslie and Dr. Compulsion were slow to begin.

Tarree's Ruslie and Standing Bear collided approaching the 300m mark. Dr. Compulsion crossed to the outside approaching the 300m mark. Tarree's Ruslie crossed to the outside approaching the 250m mark. Tarree's Ruslie and Uncle Bump collided approaching the 150m mark, checking Uncle Bump. Tarree's Ruslie crossed to the inside approaching the 150m mark, checking Tarree's Ruslie and severely checking Uncle Bump. Campeon checked off Samba King approaching the winning post.

It was reported to Stewards that the muzzle of Standing Bear became wedged between its teeth on pulling up in the catching pen.

Tarika Tara and Twilight Liason collided soon after the start. Azure Dragon checked off Challis Annie soon after the start. Tarika Tara checked off Big Deal at the 250m mark, checking Tarika Tara. Twilight Liason crossed to the outside at the 250m mark and continued to race wide for the remainder of the event. Big Deal and Challis Annie collided approaching the winning post, checking Challis Annie.

Twilight Liason was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury was found. Stewards spoke to Mr Theo Vantaarling (representing - Ms F Vantaarlling) regarding the performance of Twilight Liason, in particular at the 250m mark.  Mr Vantaarling stated that the greyhound performs better when leading and agreed with the Stewards observations that the greyhound did not drive forward at the 250m mark. Stewards issued a warning to Mr Vantaarling regarding the racing manners of Twilight Liason at the 250m mark.

Zipping Boyd was slow to begin.

Carson County and Unbackable collided soon after the start. Dee Dee One crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Wolf Point. Dee Dee One checked off Wolf Point at the 300m mark. Succession Plan and Wolf Point collided approaching the 250m mark. Unbackable checked off Dee Dee One at the 100m mark. Succession Plan and Becket collided at the 100m mark. Wolf Point and Becket collided approaching the winning post.

Bourbon An Kahn crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Dr. Cadenza, Jupiter Jones and Karaoke Ken. Dr. Kestrel and Karaoke Ken collided at the 300m mark, checking Dr. Kestrel. Xan Mai and Bourbon An Kahn collided at the 275m mark. Karaoke Ken crossed to the rail at the 200m mark.

Wolfie's Sook was slow to begin.

Stylish Bree and Lady Mikado collided soon after the start. Rhomboid and Lady Mikado collided at the 300m mark, checking Spazzy Blue. Rhomboid and Lady Mikado collided again approaching the 250m mark. Stylish Bree checked off Wolfie's Sook at the 250m mark. Rhomboid and Mrs. Jawa collided at the 150m mark. Stylish Bree checked off Wolfie's Sook approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Nathan Punshon, the trainer of Freakish Flash, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Freakish Flash last raced at Ballarat on 16 June 2018. Mr Punshon stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after sustaining a groin injury.

Mister Blue and Injector collided soon after the start. Freakish Flash and Lexie's Boy collided soon after the start. Lexie's Boy and Scott Muscle collided soon after the start. Big Bazza was slow to begin.

Quena Dee Air and Tiggerlong Zorro collided at the 250m mark. Prince Mikado checked off Doran's Grove at the 200m mark, checking Mini Dozer. Big Bazza and Uncatchable collided at the 150m mark. Prince Mikado checked off Uncatchable at the 100m mark. Doran's Grove and Alfie's Affair collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke with Ms Lisa Farquhar, the handler of Big Bazza, and reminded her of her responsibilities in obeying the starter's instructions as per GAR 51(9).

Stewards spoke with HGA starter, Mr Jack Ryan, and reminded him to ensure that he has the correct magnets on the boxes at all starts.

Stewards spoke to Mr Joshua Formosa, representing trainer Mr Aaron Debattista, regarding the length of time Xtreme Notice has had between races. Xtreme Notice last raced at Horsham on 29 May, 2018. Mr Formosa stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a spelling period.

Oliver Cruise checked off Boston You Essay at the 250m mark. Oliver Cruise checked off Xtreme Notice at the 100m mark, checking Fruit Frames. 

Stewards spoke to Mr K Quinn, representing trainer Mr Noel Carthew, regarding the length of time Don's Magic has had between races. Don's Magic last raced at Bendigo on 25 April 2018. Mr Quinn stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a seasonal condition.

Luca Flyer was slow to begin.

Tusksa crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Renegade and Hello Mr Duck. Hello Mr Duck and Renegade collided several times approaching the 200m mark, checking both greyhounds. Tusksa and Agent Osti collided approaching the 200m mark, checking both greyhounds. Hello Mr Duck and Renegade collided at the 200m mark, checking both greyhounds. Don's Magic faltered approching the 100m mark. 

Stewards withheld "all clear" to view the official video film of the lure driving over the concluding stages of the Event. After viewing both the patrol and head-on footage, Stewards were satisfied that no greyhounds were disadvantaged and the "all clear" was given on the Judges' numbers 6-7-2-1.

Don's Magic was vetted and revetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury. The greyhound was revetted at 3.37pm and found to have sustained injuries to the right stopper and left hip. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
