Arashundi checked off Why Not Senor at the 300m mark. Jakesta eased approaching the winning post and collided with Unbackable.
Stewards spoke to Mr Dylan Bate, the trainer of the greyhound Jakesta, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Jakesta was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abraded webbing on the left hind foot, no veterinary stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Jakesta with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Bate pleaded guilty to the charge, Jakesta was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
