It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain to the right wrist, an injury to the left pectoral (chest) muscle and an abrasion to the left hind leg, a ten-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Whatta Lady with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Graham pleaded guilty to the charge, Whatta Lady was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Paul Grima, the kennel representative for Bombora Thunder, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Bombora Thunder last raced on 9 June, 2018 and is returning to racing following a left hock injury. Mr Grima also declared a new weight of 32.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bombora Thunder last raced at 31.6kg.

It was reported that the greyhound sustained abraded webbing on the left hind foot, no veterinary stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Jakesta with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Bate pleaded guilty to the charge, Jakesta was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Master Winslow was a late scratching at 9:16AM due to the trainer, Mr Robert Proctor having car trouble thismorning. A 28-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards require written evidence from Mr Proctor within the next 48 hours before giving any consideration to lifting the penalties applied. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Doug Condon, the representative for Aston Lelani, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Aston Lelani last raced 29 April, 2018 and is returning to racing after being on season. Mr Condon also declared a new weight of 29.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Aston Lelani last raced at 27.8kg.

Emerley Mee Too and Big Sam Marjen were slow to begin.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A + Whelping) - Stewards spoke to Mr Gordon Edwards, the trainer of Miss Pepperoni, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Miss Pepperoni last raced on 11 March 2018. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Miss Pepperoni trialled over the 300m from box three, weight 25.7kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 16.63, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 14.75L. Miss Pepperoni was not cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Dapper Diesel trialled over the 300m from box seven, weight 36.5kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 16.63, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.5L. Dapper Diesel was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - To The Galo's trialled over the 300m from box eight, weight 32.9kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of five. The time of the trial was 16.63, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.75L. To The Galo's was cleared.
