A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from My Name's Barry and a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Applied was quick to begin. Piccolo Fratelli and Manila Sprite collided soon after the start checking Piccolo Fratelli. My Name's Barry, Militant Magic and Manila Sprite collided approaching the first turn. Militant Magic and Applied collided on the first turn. Kraken Dust and My Name's Barry collided on the first turn checking Kraken Dust. Militant Magic eased approaching the home turn and collided with Applied, checking both greyhounds. My Name's Barry clipped the heels of Militant Magic approaching the home turn. My Names Barry, Manila Sprite and Kraken Dust collided approaching the home turn checking Kraken Dust, Militant Magic and Manila Sprite. Militant Magic clipped the heels of My Name's Barry approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Moro, the trainer of the greyhound Militant Magic regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home straight. Militant Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right groin muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Militant Magic with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Moro pleaded not guilty to the charge, Militant Magic was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
